Lots of decent pics this month. Unfortunately last night I attempted to recharge my Nikon battery, only to discover that it is permanently dead. I wonder how much those things cost....can't remember.

Bone Realm - Chapter Two

In Chapter Two, I experimented further with styles while working steadily on improving my drawing and the continuity of the character renditions. I felt very uncomfortable working with the backgrounds, and I think it shows pretty clearly. By the end of the chapter I had taken to using a cut-paste blur background, and finally I just filled the whole thing with black. Most of the techniques I tried looked okay, but I found that they all took roughly the same amount of time as it would to simply hand-draw the background from the start.

After posting the final page, I consulted my fellow Comic Furians for constructive criticism, and I received a lot of helpful feedback. I toyed with the idea of reworking the pages of Chapter 2, especially correcting some mistakes and changing/deleting some of the "dialogue", but in the end I decided I was ready to leave this chapter behind for now, and press on into Chapter 3 with my new ideas.
